The weather last week was great for a roat trip. - to pick a part. We headed out to the largest Pick a part branch located at Takanini. Felt like a child all over again, at the fair.

We were pretty well prepared for our trip, all geared up with our overalls, boots and safey vests and equipped with our tools and saws. In all excitment for the big day, Jasmit and me forgot to bring gloves for the tedious job, however Dennis on the other hand brought in extra pairs for his absent minded team.
After a good 15 mins of looking for a decent car to operate, we decided to pick a car that had no windscreen as Pick a part has a fine for mishandling of the windscreen. At last we decided on operating a 1996 Holden Commodore which was white. A couple of hours later, after all the hard work accompanied by a bottle of coke, we were victorious in pulling out what we were there for. Yes, we managed to cut out the A pillars. There sat the car, A pillarless, what seemed to be a very fragile wreck wobbling about on the slightest touch.
Arms were a bit sore but overall a GREAT EXPERIENCE !!!! Dennis ended up taking the pillars home to smoothen up the edges. Our next meeting is scheduled for next week.
This week however was very laid back, and we were to get some data from the MONASH UNIVERSITY ACCIDENT RESEARCH CENTER, in regards to some figures for stress, strain and fatigue readings for the 1996 Holden Commodore we had operated on. The quick correspondence was impressive, however their reply was not the very best news to us. The reply from them can be seen on Dennis's blog through this link. Correspondence from MUARC
